NEW Gaming System - Crimson Skies of Glory!

Wings of Glory: WW2 version

Wings of War WW2

After play testing the Crimson Skies Heroclix for a couple months, we've come to the conclusion that the HC system is just plain rubbish! The only way to get a good feel for individual planes is for them to have different capabilities and maneuvers, more like real life. Mitsubishi A6M2 Zeroes were agile and light; great in a turn fight, while the Chance-Vought F4U-1A Corsair was a Boom & Zoom attacker who wouldn't be caught dead trying to out turn a Zero.

The game "Wings of War/Wings of Glory" accomplishes this - so we're going to start looking into getting a conversion going for Crimson Skies. A conversion has already been started by a contributor on WingsofWar.Org  Aerodrome Forums, so we're going to expand on it and test it out. We'll keep you informed on future missions soon. Stay Tuned!

UPDATE: Modified Turn Order v2.0 - Crimson Skies Heroclix

The Modified Turn Order for Crimson Skies Heroclix has been updated for the throttle setting of EIGHT (8) which has been found on the Hughes Bloodhawk and for customized aircraft.
  • Turn Order Roll for Initiative (winner is "Aggressor").
  • Set speeds for ALL planes.
  • Reveal speeds and engine check.
  • Choose navigation cards for ALL planes.
  • Reveal maneuvers for ALL planes.
  • Start move segments, counting down from TEN (10).
  • Add one (1) move marker for each active plane on that segment and move plane onto new marker.
  • Resolve collisions (if any).
  • Declare attacks starting with Aggressor.  Active planes FIRE FIRST, inactive planes fire last. Each plane may fire only once per TURN; but only ONCE per gun position per turn (ie. FORWARD guns 1X, REAR guns 1X for a total of 2 attacks per turn).
  • Add/Subtract modifiers and roll for attack.
  • Defender clicks for damage taken & a token is added to attacker; Maximum 2 tokens to show amount of attacks taken (1 for FORWARD guns, 1 for REAR guns).
  • After ALL attacks resolved for that segment, continue to next move segment (counting downwards) and continue until next turn.
